Streaming on Twitch is becoming more and more popular amongst players. Ex-Ultimate Poker pro Jason "Jcarver" Somerville is one of the biggest names in online poker streaming and he considers streaming an important step in making more popular.
Many players agree that Twitch will spark a mini poker boom but the following story also shows that possible issue with online streaming.
Team Gripsed pro Charlie "Epiphany77" Carrel was live streaming his session and left his chair in the 5-minute break.
Carrel asked a friend of his to help him set up the stream with the help fo Team Viewer. Carrel forgot to close the program, and this enabled a viewer called kiree11 to access Carrel’s account.
kiree11 sent $1,000 to his own account from the $34,000 that Carrel had online, you can even see him trying to figure out how much to send in the video.
The case was quickly reported to PokerStars support and the transaction was cancelled, and Kiree11 is likely receiving a ban from the room.
