470 survivors from Day 1A and 1,154 survivors from Day 1B sat together for Day 2AB of the World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event. By the end of the day only 650 players were left standing, the biggest stack belongs to Amar Anand, but Will Molson, Brian Hastings, Jake Cody and Fedor Holz also have plenty of chips.
Several big names weren’t so lucky, 2003 champion Chris Moneymaker was eliminated after his A-K couldn’t improve against Dan Colman’s pocket Queens and last year’s third place finisher Jorryt van Hoof busted after with K-Q against Talal Shakerchi’s A-J.
Amit Makhija, Barry Shulman, Jeremy Ausmus, Andy Black, Jason Mercier, Brian Rast, Phil Galfond, Matt Salsberg and actor James Woods were also all eliminated.
On Thursday the Day 1C survivors will battle on Day 2C and on Friday the whole field will continue as one and try to reaching the 1,000 paying spots.
