The American pro will be attempting to turn a $100 deposit into a $10,000 bankroll to prove that online games are still beatable. He will live stream his challenge on Twitch, check out the details below!
Bankroll building challenges have always been very popular amongst online poker players. Back in 2009 German player Thomas "boku87" Boekhoff built a $10,000 bankroll from $100 in 15 days and Portuguese pro Andre "acoimbra" Coimbra tried to build a $100,000 bankroll from $100 in one year in 2013. Coimbra ultimately didn’t succeed but he was not far from his goal.
To prove that despite an increase in player skill over the years small stakes are still beatable, high stakes pro Doug "WCGRider" Polk announced that he will be trying to run up a $100 deposit to $10,000.
Polk has already starting playing, but his first session on August 7 didn’t go particularly well, he lost $17.
Polk has set no time limit on the challenge because he wants to stream all of it on Twitch which will slow down his progress. He plans to play freerolls, $1 MTTs and HU Sit & Gos in the beginning.
Polk also set up a poll on his Twitter page regarding the challenge and most voters (40%) believe that he will succeed in 4-8 weeks while 35% of voters believe he will fail.
The American pro will be playing his sessions between 18:00 – 22:00 (PST), you can check out the stream by clicking on this link.
