The $102,000 NLHE 8-Max Super High Roller event at this year’s World Championship of Online Poker attracted a total of 28 entries (24 unique players and 4 re-entries), creating a prize pool of $2,800,000. Six top professionals returned for Day 2 of the event with the following chipstacks:

Seat 2: bencb789 – 117.681
Seat 3: fish2013 – 130.175
Seat 4: Igor "lechuckpoker" Kurganov – 85.058
Seat 5: Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz – 163.382
Seat 6: Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton – 168.345
Seat 7: salfshb – 175.359

Play continued on the 1,500/3,000 – 450 ante blind level and the first player to be eliminated was high stakes cash game crusher fish2013.

fish2013 called bencb789’s cutoff raise on the button with A-A and Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz also called from the big blind. Bencb789 bet 8,811 on the K-Q-6 flop into a pot of 26,700 and both of his opponents called.

After a Deuce hit the turn bencb789 slowed down and checked after which fish2013 bet 21,784 into a pot of 53,113. CrownUpGuy called then checked the river once a second Deuce hit and fish2013 moved all-in. The German wunderkind snapped him off with K-2 for a backdoored full house and gained a huge chip lead.

The next player to be eliminated was Igor "lechuckpoker" Kurganov, he limped in from the small blind with a stack of roughly 68,000 with Q-J and called Holz’s raise of 10,600. Kurganov check/called a 12,000 bet on the J-8-2 flop then check/called all-in after the turn came a Ten (J-8-2-Tboard).

Holz showed 9-5 offsuit for an open-ended straight draw and got there when a Seven hit the river.

The huge, $560,000 money bubble burst with the elimination of Ike "philivey2694" Haxton and once again it was Holz who played the role of the executioner. Holz shoved for roughly 20 big blinds from the small blind with 5-3 suited and Haxton called all-in with T-T.

Unfortunately for him, Holz hit a flush on the 8-T-6-4-J board and sent the American high stakes pro packing. The remaining players were all guaranteed at least $560,000 with $1.4 million going to the winner.

The heads-up was set with the elimination of salfshb, he lost his stack with A-K against bencb789’s A-Q. The two remaining players struck a deal and left $56,000 and the title for the winner.

The duel didn’t last very longer, in the final hand Holz raised with A-3 and bet three streets on the 2-6-K-4-T board, shoving all-in on the river. Bencb789 snapped him off with K-4 two pair and won the$1,172,361 reserved for first place.
