Gus Hansen has temporarily retired from poker due to the massive downswing he had to endure online (he’s down $20,737,007 on Full Tilt and $1,462,374 on PS) but now he’s back at the table. He’s started off slow, losing $69,885 over 739 hands. Hansen’s poor performance may lure in other well-known pros, and his personality can provide some extra entertainment value at the event.
Speaking of entertainment… Notorious trash talker Tony G is also among the players who gained a following through their personality, rather than just their card play. As one of Lithuania’s EP representatives lately he’s focused more on his political career over poker. He’s no stranger to controversy in that field either – Russia just banned him from entering the counrty. We’ll see if his game and his speech play is the same as it was.
