The biggest poker tournament of the year is nearing its conclusion: only nine players, a full ring is still in play for the WSOP Main Event Championship title.

The November Nine came a little early this year – Day 7 of the WSOP Main Event kicked off on July 17th with 27 players remaining fighting for the $8.15 million first prize, by around 2 pm July 18th Las Vega time it got down to 9. The final table. And since WSOP owner Caesars Entertainment had decided they are not putting the poker world championship to a 4-month halt this year like they used to, we’re going to see a new champion crowned very soon.

Here are the nine players who still have a chance to claim the title:

Scott Blumstein (USA) – 97.25 million chips
John Hesp (Great Britain) – 85.7 million
Benjamin Polllak (France) – 35.175 million
Bryan Piccioli  (USA) – 33.8 million

Damian Salas (Argentina) – 22.175 million
Antoine Saout (France) – 21.75 million

Two of these players are returnees to the WSOP ME final table: the French Antoine Saout finished 3rd in 2009; while the American Ben Lamb also came in 3rd place in 2011.

Meanwhile the last tournament other than the Main Event also played out in this year’s World Series of Poker, the American Adrian Moreno won the $1,111 buy-in Little Drop No-limit hold’em championship, winning $528K along with his first bracelet.
