Only 12 players remained in the tournament on the 4th day of WSOPE Main Event. Maria Ho leads the field.

Chip leader Maria Ho

The day was headlined by Maria, who managed to build up a 3,850,000 stack. She made some questionable plays during the day which made some of her peers raise their eyebrows. Maria decided to lay down middle set on a three-hearts flop when Niall Farrell overshoved in a 4-way 3bet pot. As it turned out Ho was in the lead against Farrell’s combodraw.

The day saw a number of big names falling as Rainer Kempe, Parker "Tonkaaaap" Talbot, David Peters and Mike Leah all left the tables amongst others. However, there are still notable players in the contest. Niall Farrell – who took down the €25k high roller a few days ago – sits on a comfortable chip stack of 3,575,000, day 3 chip leader Robert Bickley has 2,885,000 while UK’s Jack Salter is in 6th place with 2,125,000.

Farrell has a great chance to add another title to his resume as he’s waiting the next day in second place. He busted several opponents during day 4. He sent Hungarian poker pro Norbert Madaras (16th, €37,862) and Croatian fighter Ante Varnica (15th, €37,862) to the rail simultaneously after winning a 3-way all in holding :Ac:Qh against :As :Tc and :Ah :2d. It didn’t take him long to find another player to bust. His next victim was Romanian Vlad Darie (13th, €46,594) when he managed to out draw Darie’s flopped straight with a set on a :Ts :9s :7c :Ks :9d board.

Niall Farrell knows how to win tournaments

Another exciting aspect of the upcoming day is the marching of defending champion Kevin MacPhee who is still in the tournament taking 11th place with 1,060,000. No wonder he’s eager to repeat his 2015 performence.

The next day will start with 20,000/40,000/5,000 blinds and 90-minute levels.
