The remaining field is guaranteed for at least a $250K payday, but they’re all aiming at the $2,000,000 first-place prize.
The unofficial final table of 9 is set at the MILLIONS World in the luxurious Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. Day 3 started with 59 players returning to their tables, 20 places away from the money. It didn’t take too long for them to get the party started as a huge pot developed 10 minutes into the day, where King’s Casino owner, Leon Tsoukernik, Jason Koon and Christopher Kruk were involved.
Leon had bottom set, Jason held middle set, while Chris turned over the nut flush draw. Even though the turn gave Kruk the flush, Tsoukernik managed to spike a one-outer on the river for quads and eliminated both of his opponents.
"I don’t care about the money, I just want the title," – Leon
Despite holding the chip lead at one point, Leon busted in 14th place when his huge bluff was picked off by Steve O’Dwyer with only one pair.
The field quickly reduced to 41 players, but in the bubble, the pace slowed down. Founder of Poker Central, Cary Katz was sitting on the shortest stack, when the hand-for-hand play began and despite doubling up once, Cary became the bubble boy, when he was busted by Chance Kornuth. The rest of the field all made at least $60,000.
From this point, the players started playing faster and the short stacks quickly busted. Notables to make the money include Partypoker pro, Joni Jouhkimainen, Ben Pollak, Ben Yu, Matt Berkey, Nick Patrangelo and Timothy Adams.
The remaining field is guaranteed for at least a $250,000 prize, but the $2 million for the champion will probably motivate them to return to the table with their A-game.
