As soon as the 2015 WSOP finished, the Aussie MIllions released their 2016 schedule. The series will run between January 13 – February 1 with a total of 24 events, including several big buy-in events, such as the $100,000 Challenge and the $250,000 Challenge.

Every January the best players in the world head to Melbourne’s Crown Casino for the Aussie Millions Poker Championship and this year will be no exception.

The series will have plenty of events for smaller players, for example the $1 million guarantee $1,150 Hold’em event or the $1,150 No Limit Hold’em Accumulator, but the most anticipated events are the $10,600 Main Event (which will have three starting flights) and the three ”Challenge” tournaments.

The Challenge tournaments have a buy-in of $25,000, $100,000 and $250,000 and plenty of big players have already confirmed their participation. Phil Ivey is not on of these, but it would be a big surprise if he missed the events, considering the fact that he won three out of four $250,000 Challenges in the past.

Last year a total of 648 players registered for the Main Event and local player Manny Stavopoulos took down the event for A$1,385,500.
