American pro Alec Torelli has recently talked about one of the hands he played on the TV show Poker Night In America. In the hand he folded a set without much hesitation after his opponent raised his flop bet. Check out the video and Torelli’s great analysis below.
We have previously reported about Poker Night in America, a poker cash game TV show that launched in 2014 with the main goal to make poker popular again in the USA. Lots of big names appear on the show including Shaun Deeb, David Williams, Phil Hellmuth, Mike "The Mouth" Matusow and more.
In a recent episode, Alec "traheho" Torelli made a big laydown and analyzed it afterward.
"One of the big mistakes of human nature is that we are too focused on our own world that we forget to put ourselves in the other guy’s shoes. If you manage to think with someone’s else head it will help you a lot in life, make your human relationships stronger, you will be more successful in business as well as in poker.
Maybe you have heard about the hand that I have recently played on Poker Night in America. We saw the flop 3-way, my opponents were poker editor and writer Chad Holloway and Shaun Deeb. I had 9-9 and flopped a set. I bet, Chad raised me, and I folded within seconds, showing my hand and shocking the whole table.
To be honest, all I did was to try to think with my opponent’s head, I looked at the situation from Chad’s perspective. I asked myself the following question.
What hand would I play like this if I was him?
After I answered this question to myself, it was obvious that I was behind."
