According to Financial Times Alphaville, Amaya Gaming has made a $1,2 billion offer on the purchase of bwin.party. After several media outlets published the story as a fact, bwin.party released a statment that denied the sale, but they admitted that they are negotiating with several companies regarding a deal.

Rumors about the sale of bwin.party have been rampant in the past few years, but there was never any solid information. Now, Financial Times Alphaville reports that according to the Markets Live segment, several real offers have been made for the gambling company.

According to yesterday’s news, one of the companies interested in buying bwin.party is Amaya Gaming, the new owners of PokerStars and Full Tilt. Paul Murphy, a Financial Times Alphaville writer stated that Amaya has made a $1,2 billion offer on Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment.

bwin.party has given a press release, denying the offer, but confirming that they are in negotiations with several parties.

"Further to recent media speculation regarding a possible bid for bwin.party, the Board of bwin.party confirms that it has entered into preliminary discussions with a number of interested parties regarding a variety of potential business combinations with a view to creating additional value for bwin.party shareholders. Such discussions may or may not result in an offer being made for the Company.  However, as all such discussions remain at a preliminary stage, there can be no certainty as to whether or not they will result in any form of transaction with any party."

According to other sources, besides Amaya, Playtech is also interested in buying bwin.party.

In case the speculations are true, and Amaya is indeed buying bwin.party, the company could have an even bigger domination on the online poker market.
