The 48th World Series of Poker starts today in Las Vegas, and it seems Daniel Negreanu has very high hopes for it: he just bet Ben Lamb an undisclosed amount he will win three bracelets this year.

Negreanu has won 6 bracelets total in his career and he’s looking for a "1.5X raise" this year, according to his Twitter account. He tweeted out on Monday: "Just bet @BenbaLamb I’d win 3 WSOP bracelets this summer at even money. He is lighting money on fire. Punish him!!!".

Ben Lamb finished 3rd in the WSOP Main Event back in 2011 and won the $10,000 PLO Championship the same year. He got a pretty safe "value bet" in this time: even money is great odds for this prop bet, since the only person to win three bracelets in one year was Phil Hellmuth, back in 1993.

After Negreanu tweeted out his bold bet many people tried to jump into the action and wager their money against the Canadian pro. He did accept Chance Kernuth’s bet but soon afterwards he posted he’s not willing to take any more.

The amount of money the players are wagering is unknown yet but if the story gets significant attention one of the parties involved may disclose it at some point.
