The Drawing Dead: The Highs & Lows of Online Poker documentary narrates the career of a failed online poker player.
Arguably the best poker documentary to be produced till this day is Ryan Firpo’s Busto to Robusto, narrating the lives of two poker players. One of them is a top pro, Andrew ‘good2cu’ Robl and the other is Greg ‘Captain Zeebo’ Lavery, a promising talent who got crushed by his poker lifestyle. The delivery of two such extremes worked very well in Busto to Robusto and this is the main narrative of the latest poker documentary to premiere as well, Drawing Dead: The Highs & Lows of Online Poker, which is to launch in October.
Mike Weeks’ Drawing Dead follows the stories of multi-million winner multi-tabling pro Dusty ‘Leatherass’ Schmidt and Michael Korpit, a gifted musician and sportsman, whose life got derailed by his gambling problems.
First time director Weeks does not seek to judge his heroes but aims to present the two opposites as objectively as possible. Winning several awards, the documentary premieres on 10 October on television, via DirecTV.
