Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan has recently tweeted that he had suffered his “biggest loss ever” in a Macau cash game.

Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan has recently been the victim of several attacks from the poker community. First, the US high stakes player agreed to continue the challenge against Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates but failed to live up to it, travelling instead to Macau to play live high stakes cash games. In July, he posted a statement, arguing that multi-accounting was not in fact cheating, rather mere angle shooting. An unwise move from a sponsored pro, his arguments caused quite a stir and his explanations just worsened the situation.

"Ya i mean theres a bunch of actually cheated live poker games and way shadier stuff going on in the poker world than multiaccounting. To be clear someone colluding (having 2 accounts in the same game) is outrageous and can + should be stopped. People playing on different accounts vs new people they havent played before isnt cool but is closer to angleshooting than marking the cards. A lot of people have multiaccounted vs me and unless its a personal friend i dont think its that big of a deal," he explained.

Few have agreed with him.

In addition to his reputation, his bankroll has reportedly suffered a great blow, too, recently. This Monday, he apparently lost the biggest amount of money in his career in a single session.

“In taiwan for the 1st time ever… Not leaving the airport tho. Maybe next trip. Had my biggest loss ever yesterday,” he tweeted.

Even though Dwan did not disclose any specifics, if his report is true, he must have lost over at least $2 million. This is his biggest known loss so far: back in 2009, he pushed the sum over to a newly emerging Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom in the highest stakes games at Full Tilt Poker. Dwan’s crushing defeat was eternalised in a bonus video to the Bet Raise Fold poker documentary.

According to several major poker magazines, including CardPlayer, the Macau session might well have cost a lot more than $2 million to Dwan:

“It’s also easy to imagine his “biggest loss ever” was much, much larger than $2 million because there have been reports of pots worth around $3.8 million unfolding in Macau,” CardPlayer writes.

Since no further details have been published, there is little chance we ever get to know the exact amount ‘durrrr’ has lost.
