Game started at blind level 27 (5,000/30,000/60,000) and already about half an hour into the game the first elimination took place. Shortstack Francesco Notaro went all-in against Pantaleo and, although doubling up in a narrow situation, he soon played it down to the showdown with Jesus Cortes Lizano. Notaro had A:s K:d while Lizano held A:c Q:s. The river being a queen on an otherwise neutral board, he eliminated Notaro.
A couple of hands later, Georgios Skotadis’ Ts were ruined by Thor Stang’s pocket jacks, sending him to the rail in seventh place. Lundmark then eliminated Stang, Pantaleo, Shander De Vries and Puchkov, too, leaving Lizano left for heads-up.
