36 players started Day 4 of the EPT London Main Event, and there were still plenty of big names in the field. By the end of the day there were only 16 players left standing, led by German player Sebastian Pauli. Today, players are playing down to the final 8 players, you can watch the live stream from Day 5 in the article, with players like Jake Cody, Kevin MacPhee and Benny Spindler all battling for the £499,700 GBP first prize.
The first player to bust was Francis Foord-Brown, the next player to lose his chips was Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen, who lost a flip with AJ against Artur Koren’s 66. The next elimination was also a PokerStars Pro, Team Online’s Christian Favale got all his money in with AJ (jack of hearts) on the Q-T-9 three hearts flop, but Marko Neumann flopped the nuts with J-8, and Favale couldn’t improve on the turn and the river.
After this Kai Herold, Sergio Aido, Leo Nordin and Fadhil Farag busted, before a wave of PokerStars Pro eliminations: Marc-Andre Ladouceur (29th), Fatima Moreira de Melo (28th) and Liv Boeree (27th) all hit the rail.
The next players to bust were Marco Caza, Sven Wendt, Simon Taberha and Marko Neumann, who ran AQ into Sebastian Pauli’s AA, and was shortly followed by Trevallion, Haenraets, Jareth East, Zahi Harel, William Chattaway, and finally, Daniel Erlandsson.
Play will resume today from 12:00 local time, and there are several big names in the field, including three players who could become two-time EPT winners. Jake Cody, Kevin MacPhee and Benny Spindler have all won titles before, Spindler actually won his in London back in 2011.
Another interesting name in the field is Pablo "gordijú" Gordillo, who recently gained fame after winning three online tournaments in one night on PokerStars for more than $100,000.
