The German pro defeated an extremely tough final table including Ben ”Ben86” Tollerene in the heads-up to claim the second biggest score of his career and A$1,446,480.

The final table of the A$100k Challenge at the Aussie Millions kicked off with the following seating and stacks.

Seat 1. Connor Drinan – 943.000
Seat 2. Fedor Holz – 192.000
Seat 3. Jason Mercier – 508.000
Seat 4. Sam Greenwood – 458.000
Seat 5. Fabian Quoss – 478.000
Seat 6. Ben Tollerene – 1.522.000

Play started on Level 16 (10,000/20,000 – 3,000 ante) and we only had to wait six hands until the first elimination. Connor Drinan shoved on the button with 4-4, Holz called all-in with K-Q and couldn’t improve on the 2-6-5-A-9 runout.

Six hands later there was another elimination, Sam ”Str8$$$Homey” Greenwood shoved all-in from the small blind for 235,000 over Drinans cutoff raise of 40,000 and Drinan called. Greenwood was ahead with A2 suited but Drinans Q9 suited outdrew him on the J-6-3-4-9 board.

On Level 17 (12,000/24,000 – 4,000 ante) Fabian Quoss opened to 55,000 from the button with A-2 of clubs and Drinan defended with Q-9 from the big blind (Queen of clubs). The flop fell J-T-7 with two clubs and Drinan check/called a bet of 75,000. The 9 of clubs on the turn gave Quoss a flush and Drinan check/called once again, this time for 135,000.

The 6 of clubs on the river gave Drinan a smaller flush and he lead out for 165,000. Quoss shoved all-in and Drinan eventually called off for 292,000 after using a time bank chip.

Fabian Quoss – 2.360.000
Ben Tollerene – 1.268.000
Jason Mercier – 473.000

On Level 18 (15,000/30,000 – 4,000 ante) Jason Mercier raised to 60,000 from the button, Quoss asked for a chipcount then raised to 160,000. Mercier shoved and Quoss called. Mercier showed A-8 suited while Quoss had K-Q, unfortunately for Mercier the board ran out Q-3-3-K-2 and he was eliminated.

Quoss started the heads-up with a massive lead but during Level 19 (20,000/40,000 – 5,000 ante) Tollerene doubled up with Q-Q against Quoss’ 7-2 on a rainbow board of 8-7-6-3-5 (the money went in on the river).

Fabian Quoss – 3.100.000
Ben Tollerene – 1.000.000

Despite the double-up Tollerene couldn’t make a comeback, in the 124th hand of the finale he called all-in after Quoss shoved. Quoss showed K-J suited, dominating Tollerenes J-T and the 6-5-4-5-5 board brought no difference. Fabian Quoss won A$1,446,480 with the victory which equals $1,024,645.

This is the second biggest score of the high roller specialist, his record score came from winning the PCA Super High Roller in 2014 ($1,629,940).
