A couple of days ago we reported about the Ted Forrest vs. Mike "The Mouth" Matusow weight loss bet and how Mike refuses to pay Forrest the money he owes him for the bet. Forrest first told Mike that he would become a better man if he paid his debt, but this Sunday, someone on Twitter wrote that Ted should fight Matusow for the cash, and Forrest loved the idea. Could this weight loss bet transform into a heavyweight fistfight? Check out the Tweets below and decide for yourself!

At first, Forrest was trying to get to Matusow’s conscience (who said multiple times that he’s not willing to change his lifestyle just to pay the debt):

"I still believe in you that’s one reason I’m pushing you so hard. Doing the right thing even through sacrifice will make you a better man"

But then someone suggested the idea for a fight, and Forrest fell in love with the idea instantly, he would even be willing to pay Mike back the $70,500 that he paid off in the last 4 years.

"Lol I love it! That’s the best tweet I’ve seen all day…although I’m pretty sure we are in different weight classes."

"Stop??? Mike is younger than I am and has at least 40 pounds on me. Hell if he beats me il even give him his 70,500 back"

Forrest seems really desperate to get his money, he would even be fine with gaining some of his weight back:

"@4viffer I would like to fight at 175 but for the mouth I could get talked into fighting at heavyweight !"

Plenty of players commented on the Tweets and many stated that this is a great offer for Mike, because he is essentially free-rolling Forrest. If he wins, he’s free of the debt, if he loses, well, he still owes the same amount of money he did before the match.

Whether he would be actually willing to pay back, is a different question. Matusow has used the fact that he is no longer receiving a Full Tilt paycheck as an excuse multiple times, and one of the last Tweets (already deleted from his account) he made was the following:

"P.s ted if you want your 5k a month cll Howard lederer I’m sure he will give it to you (@themouthmatusow)"

Fights between poker players have happened in the past, and there were some better matches for example when Team PokerStars Pros Lex Veldhuis and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier got in the ring…

or when Gus Hansen fought Theo Jorgensen…

…but Matusow could also end up like Chino Reem, who had to fight Macau businessman and poker player Tom Hall, after he failed show up for the scheduled media apperances after Hall bought him into a tournament.

While we are not sure that someone’s character can be changed by just one fight, it’s pretty safe to say that once you get a right cross like Chino got from Hall, you will think twice about not honoring an agreement.
