Recreational players are targeted in the latest promotion announced by Full Tilt Poker. The Take It Down offer rewards post-flop pots won, regardless of pot size.
In their latest cash game promotion, Full Tilt Poker aims to reward recreational players for the number of hands played – and pot won – rather than the size of the pots or other aspects of the game. Running from 9 to 18 May, a bonus prize pool of $18,000 will be distributed among the top twenty players of each of two leaderboards, low and high.
Leaderboard rankings are determined on the basis of points awarded for post-flop pots won, where at least three players are dealt into the hand. The amount of points the winner receives depends on the number of players involved in the hand of NLHE or PLO (both 5- and 6-Card) ring game. Rush Poker and Adrenaline Rush tables also qualify, but not Omaha Hi/Lo.
Play at least 150 hands at the stakes of your choice: $0.01/$0.02 to $0.10/$0.25 tables count towards the low leaderboard and stakes above that count towards the high one. Points earned in the 150 hands are recorded on the LB; play more and the best 150-hand run will be considered. Qualify for the leaderboard on any two days during the promotion and earn a ticket for the $5,000 Take It Down Flipout Freeroll, a multi-entry tourney with up to five chances to enter for those who qualify on every day of the promotion.
Apparently, the offer requires both skill and luck. You need to win multi-way pots in order to make it to the leaderboard, yet 150 hands provide room for a fair share of luck, too. Players are encouraged to play a loose aggressive style, as it is the number of pots won that counts, rather than pot sizes. It is also worth playing at full ring tables as opposed to 6-max ones, as the more players involved in hands, the more points the winner can accumulate. On the other hands, it is more difficult to win pots at FR tables, somewhat evening the odds.
