A man called Jared Huggins lost his $100 bankroll in a heads-up match, his 3 jobs and has been evicted from his home. Really bad luck. After 6 months spent on the streets he was saved by none other than the Two Plus Two community.
It all started out by Huggins posting on Two Plus Two forums under the nickname ‘RelaxedPrecision’ last February. Being totally broke and having no friends in Los Angeles, he decided to live on the streets of Venice Beach. Some cynical Two Plus Two users suggested him to make funny videos for cash. Of course that was only a joke, but Huggins made the videos anyway, for example where he dances for money, gives free hugs on Venice Beach, or raps about alcohol.
However, he was able to stay online during his time on the streets, he read and posted on Two Plus Two the whole time. Forum members and and soon the whole poker world started to recognize him. He got good wishes, advices about life, job offers, and money as well. Despite his family issues, bad medical condition, and his hopeless financial status, he managed to collect enough money to rent an apartment. He posted a "thank you" video on YouTube in which he shows people where he lives, and thanks everybody who had helped him in the most difficult period in his life.
What is more, Cardrunners’ instructor John ‘JimmyLegs’ Wray started a petition to get Huggins playing in the PokerStars Big Game, PokerStars‘ latest show featuring a ‘loose cannon’, an amateur player who gets to play against the biggest stars in poker. Poker superstars support his cause, with the help of Daniel Negreanu or Justin ‘BoostedJ’ Smith he can possibly make it to the show.
If this wasn’t enough, here’s an interview with Jared, made by Pokerstatic.com, in which he talks about everything; his life, himself, family, friends and poker of course.
