Jennifer Shahade, an American chess Grandmaster and author of the book "Chess Bitch" who is getting more and more involved in the poker world won the €10,000 buy-in OFC Poker Live World Championship High Roller for €88,000.

As we have previously reported, Tonybet Poker, the Open Face Chinese Poker site of Tony G organized the first ever OFC Poker Live World Championship, with two events in the schedule, a Main Event and a High Roller event.

The €10,000 High Roller started on Monday, and the most well-known player in the field was two-time WSOP bracelet winner Jason Mercier. In the end, it was Jennifer Shahade who claimed the victory and the €88,000 first prize.

Shahade made an even chop in the heads-up with Ilya Bulychev, they left €5,000 for the winner. Shahade is a well-known chess player but she only started getting more involved in poker in the last few years, and she was very happy about her result, she stated that she has never played this well in a poker tournament before.
