Popular poker commentator/player and recent Shark Cage finalist Kara Scott has recently announced that she will be leaving Partypoker in 2015, she has cited the lack of TV projects as the reason.
Scott has written about the split in a recent blog entry:
”I’d like to announce that as of the end of this year, I will no longer be an ambassador for PartyPoker or their associated brands. When I first started with the company in Januray 2010, I was recruited in large part for my on-camera work.
PartyPoker has gone through many changes and unfortunately as their focus shifted, there were fewer and fewer TV projects. As those shows disappeared, so did one of my favourite parts of the job and now my association with Party is ending.”
Scott is not leaving the poker world however, she still plans to stay in the business both as a reporter and as a player:
”Although I’m no longer ewaring an orange patch, you’ll still be seeing me as a sideline reporter on your TVs or sitting with a chip stack of my own in tournaments around the world. I’ve already booked a flight to Malta and reserved a seat at my favourite reggae bar there, just in time for the big poker festival in March.”
The Canadian player/reporter has a promising career in front of her if chooses to focus on playing instead of media work, having amassed over $640,000 over the years, including a second place finish from the 2009 Irish Open Main Event.
