The brand new Cake Poker client will soon be available for everyone, players of the Cake network will probably be able to try it out in June. A short introductional video, however, is already available for my readers in this blog post.

"We are excited to launch the private beta for our new Cake Poker client and to get some further feedback on our efforts. We are delighted at the how the client is currently operating and looking forward to being able to offer an improved online poker experience to all our players." – says Lee Jones, Head Director of the Cake Network.

Some main features that the new Cake software will include:

  • Main lobby can be stretched both horizontally and vertically
  • Easy-to-see-through and more detailed searching and filtering
  • Direct registration available at the list of tournaments
  • Direct registration to satellites from the Tournament lobby
  • Tables are resizable to ‘standard minimum size’
  • Chat box can be detached in a separate window
  • Players can customize card backs, table felt, and background
  • Tournament notices can be filtered or turned off completely
  • Players can put upcoming tournaments in their personal calendar to be reminded later.

Well-known cash game and tournament players have also been participating in the planning and designing of the software.

An open beta testing will follow the private beta test period, this, according to my sources of information, will happen this June. The network has not yet announced an official date, as it is still possible that some bugs not yet discovered could delay official release.
