The high-limit cash game specialist proves again, he has what it takes to be an expert in multiple formats.

"I’m wound up for the $50k and $100k, those events speak for themselves"

The popular commentator on PokerGO, Nick Schulman is certainly no stranger to either mixed games or high-stakes. He’s a regular in the biggest cash games in ARIA’s Ivey’s Room and Bellagio’s Bobby’s Room where he battles for six- or even seven-figure pots. Nick is not a tournament regular, but whenever he shows up to play he’s always a force to be reckoned with.

He already scored a nice cash in the Event #7: $25,000 NLH event, where he got 5th for $120,000. It seems like he hadn’t had enough and went on to take down the $25,000 Mix Championship pocketing $270,000 for his performance.

"It feels damn good," Schulman told after his win. "There’s nothing like winning a tournament, regardless of the field size. It feels great and getting a clear first is exciting."

"I’m wound up for the $50k and $100k, those events speak for themselves," he added. "We’ll see how this $50k goes and then we’ll see if I’ll play the $100k. You gotta be pumped up to play with these wizards."

When the final four players returned to play, none of them was guaranteed for a payout as there were only three places paid. Finally, it was Randy Ohel who busted, missing on the $80,000 payday. Not long after Ohel busted, Chris Vitch lost a big 2-7 Triple Draw hand against Brandon Adams and left the table to pick up his $80K.

The heads-up

The two started the heads-up relatively even and swapped the lead several times. Adams then lost a good portion of his stack when he made an unsuccessful over bluff in a no-limit hold’em hand. From this point, Nick started increasing his lead and finally busted the Harvard professor in a limit hold’em hand, holding king-ten against 9-2.

Brandon received $150,000 for his runner-up finish, while Schulman added $270,000 to his bankroll. With this win, he’s currently 3rd on the 2019 USPO Leaderboard.
