The event currently running at the Bahamas sets the new record for the biggest tournament ever with a $25,000 buy-in.

PokerStars’ featured event at this year’s Caribbean Adventure, the $25,000 Player’s Championship lived up to the hype that proceeded it, with 1,014 entries which makes the tournament the biggest-ever $25K event. The number easily exceeded WPT’s 639-entry record and the registration is still open.

The prize pool is over $25 million, which attracted the best players as well, which is no surprise to see, giving that the field is much softer than in a regular $25K event, thanks to the hundreds of packages awarded to online qualifiers by the site. Only 745 of the original field advanced to Day 2, the average stack is 81,664.

The businessman turned high-roller regular, Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi is the leading the field with a massive stack of 425,300. Talal is followed by the long-time pro, Dan O’Brien, who accumulated 301,200.
