This hand was played by one of my friends. Let’s see how the hand was played out by him until the river. Preflop it is a clear bet. The flop and turn bets are for protection and also for thin value. But how do you feel about this river card?
I think this is one of the worst river card. It completes a flush draw, some gutshot draws, and also hit some marginal calling hands – for example 87, 86 – in villain’s range. In other words it would seriously hit the villain’s range. So villain usually outdrew you with this river card.
The other times he had you also before the river, since he plays this way an 88, 99 and sometimes a TT, too. It is also important to add, that it is also possible that sometimes villain slowplayed a big hand, maybe a drill or a boat. So in my opinion you have to check/fold this river. If villain bets, the majority of his range will beat your hand.
