On 29 September, the last tournaments in this year’s WCOOP schedule launched, including the $5,200 Main Event. With 2,133 entrants, a prize pool of $10,665,000 was built and the first prize was set at $1,877,573. 296 players qualified for Day 2 on Monday, where they played for the 243 paying finishes.

On Blind Level 12,500/50,000/100,000, the nine-handed final table was formed, featuring the winner of a total of $3.8 million in online MTTs, PokerStars Pro Shane ‘shaniac’ Schleger, as well as FTOPS champion ‘Vampyboy’, SCOOP title holder ‘alexandrapau’, Sunday 500 winner ‘Pokerl)eviL’ and Super Tuesday winner ‘Allanon85’. ‘SwissCantMis’, ‘flippertyflop’, ‘PlayinWasted’ and ‘1M.BanKroLL’ joined them in the finale.

First out was ‘Vampyboy’, followed by ‘flippertyflop’, who lost his chips with AQ to ‘Allanon85’, who held AK on a neutral board. In 7th place finished ‘Pokerl)eviL’: ‘SwissCantMis’ raised to 240,000 from the Button, ‘PlayinWasted’ called from the SB and he moved all-in with 1,954,980 in chips from the BB. ‘SwissCantMis’ folded and ‘PlayinWasted’ called:

PlayinWasted: A:C J:h

Board: 3:s 8:d J:d 5:d K:c

Next, ‘SwissCantMis’ opened again to 240,000 and ‘PlayinWasted’ called from the Button to see ‘shaniac’ shove his remaining 3,466,603 from the SB. ‘SwissCantMis’ called and ‘PlayinWasted’ folded.

shaniac: 5:s 5:h
SwissCantMis: A:s K:s

Board: 4:d 9:c 3:c A:c Q:s

Soon a hand rarely seen to begin with and possibly infuriating to be the victim of in a world championship finale occurred:

‘1M.BanKroLL’ finished in 4th place, after which the remaining players struck a deal as seen below:

‘SwissCantMis’ lost his stack, finishing 3rd:

‘Allanon85’ dominated most of the long heads-up game but he built a major edge several times in vain, as ‘PlayinWasted’ managed to double up each time. In the last couple of hands, the latter got ahead by taking a major pot with a second pair.

Soon, the stacks got in the middle for the last time in the tournament:

German player ‘PlayinWasted’ emerges as online world champion, winning $1,493,499. The WCOOP Main Event was dominated by his fellow countrymen with all top positions being occupied by German players.

The end results are as follows:
