The original seven seasons of Poker After Dark ran on NBC between January 2007 and December 2011. The show had to be canceled after the infamous "Black Friday" criminal case blew up – the biggest partner of the program was Full Tilt, the poker room that got shut down for mishandling player funds.

The first installment of the TV program featured a galaxy of stellar poker players including Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, John Juanda, Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Doyle Brunson and Erica Schoenberg. Even the two poker pros who were most responsible for the eventual demise of the show, Full Tilt co-owners Chris Ferguson adn Howard Lederer played in front of the cameras.

Two of the players who appeared in the original run have already been confirmed to return, Daniel Negreanu and Antonio Esfandiari are sure to be back.

The old shows featured high stakes cash games and winner-take-all S&G’s. The new season will have the same on the menu, although the payout structure of the S&G’s are undetermined yet, and some Omaha and mixed games are also planned.

The new episodes will be streamed live on Poke Central’s on demand service PokerGO from the Aria Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
