The founder of the Triton Super High Roller Series takes down the HKD$250,000 6-Max Event at the Maestral Resort & Casino.

The second champion has been crowned in Montenegro, after high-roller businessman from Macau, Richard Yong captured the title of the second event in Budva, Montenegro. Richard outlasted a field of 35, with some of the best players along the way. He beat Steve O’Dwyer in the heads up.

The total prize pool was ~$1.05 million, with 6 places paid. Malaysia’s Chan Wai Leong got 6th for the min-cash of $62,931, while Cheong Cheok Leng from Macau earned $78,600 for finishing 5th. The President and CEO of Poker King Club in Macau, Winfred Yu became 4th, good for $110k.

Richard was facing two of the most feared players in the three-handed game but he managed to bust one of them early as his King-ten out-flopped the Ace-queen of Ike Haxton‘s in a preflop all-in confrontation.

O’Dwyer started the heads-up with a solid lead, but Yong managed to even out the stacks, thanks to his aggressive style. In the key hand of the tournament, Yong caught a river bluff-shove with top pair, to take a big lead. Steve doubled up once after this, but a cooler situation forced him to settle for second place when he flopped bottom two pairs against the bigger two pair of his opponent.

In his winner’s interview Richard praised his opponent and promised some future excitement in the upcoming events:

"He was playing very well, he’s better than me ten times. (…) "Maybe I need three buy-ins [for the Main Event]"
