As of now, three states out of the fifty in the Union allows you to wager real money on games online. These states are Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware. Can more be added to list real soon? Or are even those three in danger?

Recently, the Pennsylvania State Senate voted 38-12 in favor of a pro-online poker bill. New York’s State Senate has taken a vote on a similar bill last year and that one passed even more easily. And according to recent news, Massachusetts legislators could also take a vote on gambling soon. Are these signs that things are moving in the right direction?

Well, maybe. But although there are some states that are moving towards legal online gambling – they are in the minority, however, we should note – there may be some trouble on the federal level.

Although President Trump has moved the Republican Party to the left in some social issues, he did appoint a few hard-line conservatives to positions to appease the more traditional Republican base. One of these people are Jeff Sessions, Attorney General and apparently playing games for real money does not fall in line with his Christian values. He expressed his willingness to "revisit and study" the 1961 Wire Act, a legislation that bans online gambling.

Luckily, that bleak future is far from reality yet. Even some Republicans, like former Republican Congressman from Georgia Lynn Westmoreland came out in strong opposition to the restrictions. Many Americans along with people from all around the world enjoy responsible gambling and they wish to experience the same thrill from their homes and feel that the government has no right to take that away from them. If the worst case scenario does come about, however, there are websites that offer free online slots that can give you the fun experience of gambling without being in danger of losing money.
