Poker Central announced the high-roller event and the foundation of the British Poker Open Festival.

Owner of the online poker-streaming platform, PokerGO and several major tournament festivals, such as the Poker Masters, the US Poker Open and the Super High Roller Bowl, Poker Central announced, they’ll create the UK version of the SHRB as well as the British Poker Open Festival(BPOF).

The BPOF events will take place at the Aspers Casino in Stratford, London between September 2 and 12 this year. The BPOF will offer players a total of ten events with buy-ins between £10,000 and £100,000. The first on-time entry in each BPO event will be rake-free, and the player who earns the most High Roller of the Year points will be the British Poker Open champion.

The SHRB will offer the same format as the earlier events in the US, capped at 49 entrants, with 30 open seats in addition to the 19 VIP seats reserved by Poker Central and the casino. Players, who’d like to get one of the open seats, need to put up a £25,000 deposit and a lucky drawing will determine who can join the VIPs.

The SHRB will be running for three days, starting on September 13, with an estimated prize pool of £12.25 million.

Poker Central President Sam Simmons said: “After our expansion of the Super High Roller Bowl into Asia two years ago, we were able to see how international audiences responded positively and the event’s prestige grew."

"Bringing the Super High Roller Bowl and first British Poker Open to London is another milestone in our mission to highlight more players, venues, and destinations from around the world through live tournament streaming on PokerGO,” he added.

As we reported earlier, the richest poker tournament in the history will also take place in London, as the £1,050,000 Triton Million takes place in Hilton Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, between August 1 to 3. High-profile players with the likes of Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, Jason Koon or Daniel ‘Jungleman12’ Cates are all amongst the confirmed participants.
