Viktor ’Isildur1’ Blom and Isaac Haxton are to face each other once again in a SuperStar Showdown. This time, however, the challenge bankrolls will be $500,000 for each and the winner will take it all…

Viktor Blom vs Isaac Haxton

The very first SuperStars Showdown was played on 19 December, 2010, between Viktor ’Isildur1’ Blom and Isaac ’philivey2694’ Haxton. The session ended with the victory of Haxton for $41,701 after 2,500 hands.

From that point on, ’Isildur1’ won all of his SuperStar Showdown sessions: Tony G, Daniel ’jungleman12’ Cates, Eugene Katchalov, online qualifier Attila ‘DodgyFish72’ Gulcsik, Daniel Negreanu, Scott ‘URnotINdanger2’ Palmer, Mastermixus, Rui Cao and Terje ‘Terken89’ Augda all failed to beat him. After the match against ‘Terken89’, a break of 36 weeks followed to restart the promotion on 11 March, 2012 with a rematch between Blom and his single defeater Haxton. Eventually, Haxton emerged victorious once again with a profit of $5,093 after the 2,500 hands.

The two pros first talked about a possible $1 million match at the time of their first clash. According to PokerStars, this special event will take place on this Saturday, 31 March at 13:00 ET. ‘Isildur1’ and Haxton will play on four $200/$400 NLHE tables with $500,000 challenge bankrolls. The 2,500 hands limit, however, is removed: the session will go on until one of the players loses his entire stack. On Saturday, they play for four hours and if there is no winner, they play another four on Sunday. And another four on Monday, if necessary, and so on…

Blom has won a SuperStar Showdown match against Alex ‘Kanu7’ Millar since his last confrontation with Haxton and now he seeks revenge on his single nemesis. A third defeat would be a major blow to his reputation indeed, especially considering his latest claim to be the best heads-up player in the world. You can watch this particular interview, made for PokerStars, below.
