Even though poker is not yet an Olympic sport – but given place in the World Mind Sports Games for the first time –, the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games has not passed without some relevance to the game. Tony Guoga, aka ‘Tony G’, who has over $4.8 million in live tournament winnings and is famous for his trash talk at the tables, participated in the entrance as part of Team Lithuania.

Tony G was not present as a poker player, of course, but us a manager and sponsor of the Lithuanian basketball team. He also cancelled his participation in the WSOP $1,000,000 Big One event to join the team on their preparation matches.

One of the greatest trash talkers of the poker industry, Tony G is considered a successful businessman, in addition to a winning poker player, who often makes great contributions to support his native country. It is his sponsorship through which he got in connection with the Olympic basketball team, too, in the first place. Tony G also received a Niveau Prize from his home last year.
