The best Warcraft III, Starcraft II, DOTA2, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Counter Strike players in the world battled in a live SNG as a part of a promotional event at Unibet Open Cannes. In the past year the online streaming service Twitch has virtually exploded, there are thousands of online poker players and gamers streaming their gameplay 24/7 and Unibet tried to bring the two groups closer together.
The Unibet Open Cannes kicked off on September 17 with the €1,100 Main Event but the warm-up event was the Unibet eSports Battle Royal SNG.
Unibet invited some of the biggest names on Twitch including Jeffrey ”Sjow” Brusi, who is a Warcraft III and Starcraft II legend (lately he has been focusing on Hearthstone) and Yoan ”ToD” Merlo who is considered to be one of the best Warcraft III players. The field was compromised of Warcraft III, Starcaft II, DOTA2, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Counter-Strike specialists.
The win went to the famous Starcraft II player, Kevin ‘Rotterdam08” van der Kooi, you can check out the event from start to end in the video above.
