In the first two session of the 15,000 hands heads-up challenge, Doug ‘WCGRider’ Polk built a major lead against Ben ‘Sauce’ Sulsky, winning $227,000 in the first and $167,000 in the second game. While the third session saw Sulsky emerge victorious with $97,000 in profits, their latest clash brought about Polk’s victory once again.

The fourth session took place on Wednesday and it lasted over eight hours; in the 2,748 hands they played at the $100/$100 NLHE challenge tables at Full Tilt Poker, ‘WCGRider’ won $190,000. He also took the first major pot: he called Sulsky’s post-flop 3-bet with 5-7 and the flop came 7-T-7. Sulsky’s A-K hand improved to top pair top kicker with the K on the turn and they shoved on the 2 river. ‘WCGRider’ won a pot of $42,000.

After one and a half hours, ‘WCGRider’ had $110,000 in profits and it was around this period when the biggest pot of the session got in the middle.

‘WCGRider’ raised to $480, ‘Sauce’ 3-bet to $1,440 and ‘WCGRider’ called. The flop came 6:s 5:s 8:h, ‘Sauce’ checked, ‘WCGRider’ bet $2,400 and ‘Sacue’ called. He checked the Th turn as well, ‘WCGRider’ bet $6,400, ‘Sauce’ moved all-in with $91,973 and ‘WCGRider’ called with $26,599.

Sauce: 9:h 5:h
WCGRider: 8:c 8:s

Run it twice:

River 1: Q:s
River 2: 5:c

Polk’s hand held out on both rivers.

Even though ‘Sauce’ managed to come back to only $20,000 behind ‘WCGRider’, he was unable to truly turn the tide and could not gain a profit. Truth be told, Polk had his fair share of luck once again, running $50,000 above EV.

With a total profit of $491,000, ‘WCGRider’ is in the overall lead. There are 6,200 hands to go.
