Douglas ‘WCGRider’ Polk won the second session of the $100,000 heads-up challenge against Ben ‘Sauce’ Sulsky, increasing his profits to a total of almost $400,000.

On 15 September, the 15,000 hands $100/$200 NLHE heads-up challenge between Douglas ‘WCGRider’ Polk and Ben ‘Sauce’ Sulsky kicked off. The duel will last 15,000 hands and the winner gets $100,000 from the loser, in addition to his profits. The first session took place last Sunday and ‘WCGRider’ walked away with $226,716 in profits.

On Wednesday, the two pros sat down to the tables again for a 1,350 hands session to complete around 25% of the challenge in total. ‘WCGRider’ emerged victorious once again, winning $169,942.

The first hands brought about Polk’s dominance, much like Sunday, getting $60,000 ahead by the 200th hand. However, ‘Sauce’ came back and managed to build a slight edge in 200 more hands – unfortunately for him, only to see the lead flip back to ‘WCGRider’ again and for good for the rest of the session. Until about the 550th hand, ‘Sauce’ struggled to hold up but was clearly dominated after that by Polk, who put his opponent under strong pressure until the end of the session. While running about $90,000 above EV on Sunday, ‘WCGRider’ now won around estimated value.

The biggest pot of the day, $85,806 went to Polk as well.

‘WCGRider’ raised to $480, ‘Sauce’ 3-bet to $1,440, WCGRider’ 4-bet to $4,200 and ‘Sauce’ called. The flop came J:h 7:h 8:s, ‘Sauce’ checked, ‘WCGRider’ bet $5,600 and ‘Sauce’ called. They both checked the Q:h turn and Sulsky also checked the A:h river. Polk shoved with $33,203 and ‘Sauce’ called, only to muck his hand when ‘WCGRider’ showed K:h Q:d.
