PokerStars has released a new video in their "Inside PokerStars" series, this time James Hartigan visited the PokerStars Data Center with Director of IT Operations, Gary Hill. Even if you are not much of a tech person you can probably agree that the server park and the security measures that the company takes look very impressive.
If you visit any poker forum you are bound to find someone complaining about the PokerStars RNG and about the fact that nobody knows where the tournaments and hands played run and whether everything runs fair. Part 5 of the Inside PokerStars series aims to answer this question, popular EPT commentator James Hartigan visited the PokerStars Data Center to talk with Director of IT Operations, Gary Hill.
Hill explains that only 3-4 people in the world have access to the servers of the Data Center and that these people have to go through three levels of security checks including two biometric identifications (fingerprint scans).
Hill also talks about the company building an "Internet on top of the Internet", much like software giants such as Microsoft and Google. They have their own fiber optic cables which go around the UK and Europe and they also connect with the national telecommunication within countries to make sure the PokerStars playing experience is as smooth as possible.
