Brandon-Shack Harris final tabled Event 4 of the WSOP APAC, his fourth place finish earned him enough points to overtake George Danzer. Danzer actually took the lead thanks to a good run in Event 1 (22nd place), but Shack-Harris currently has a 44.4 point lead on the German pro. The WSOP Player of the Year award could be decided in the final events of the APAC, Danzer has the chance to catch up in the Dealer’s Choice event, where there are currently 19 players left.

89 players entered the event, and there were plenty of big names who busted hunting for the A$42,720 first prize and the WSOP bracelet. Daniel Negreanu, Mohsin Charania, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari and Shack-Harris have all been eliminated, by the end of the day there were only 19 players left, currently led by Australian Poker Hall of Fame member Gary Benson.

There are still plenty of tough players in the tournament, Brian Rast, Jeff Gross, Jeff Madsen and Frank Kassela are just some of the accomplished pros trying to take down the title.

Phil Hellmuth, who busted all 5 events he played since he has been in Australia also ran bad health wise, he said that he has been having respiratory problems and considered leaving Australia before the WSOP APAC Main Event. Hellmuth experienced similar problems back at the 2011 WSOP, where he had three second place finishes.

He is still eager to win a bracelet though, he had seven cashes including a runner-up finish during the 2014 WSOP, but said that it only looks like a great WSOP on the surface, and that he would like to win a bracelet.
