The European Poker Tour’s next stop will be in Vilamoura, Portugal. With all the usual events being held, this stop of the EPT offers something truly unique: an extra event will be held, in which the poker players also need to prove their golf skills.<\/p>\n

Named ’Fairways and Felts’<\/a>, the tournament will consist of one day of golf play, and one day of poker play. The buy-in will cost €770+€70 for the poker tournament, and an extra €260 for the golf event, making a €1100 total buy-in.<\/p>\n

This event is very interesting indeed, as the players’ golf performance will have an effect on their poker standings.<\/p>\n

First, all participants will held to the gorgeous golf course, where they will be divided into groups of four. Every team will play the course, and for each shot, every team member will have a go. Once all the four players had an attempt, the team will decide together which one was the best, and continue from there. As there are no individual scores, this will truly be a team task.<\/p>\n

In the poker tournament, every player will start with 5,000 chips, but extra chips will be added based on their team’s golf scores. For instance, if a team finishes under par, each team member receives an extra 750 chips. Extra chips will be added for several other golf achievements, some of them being based on individual performance (like the longest drive).<\/p>\n

Every player who achieves a hole-in-one will win a prize package to the EPT London event, all expenses paid.<\/p>\n
