July
In July, the mystery surrounding one of the best online high stakes players, ‘Odd_Oddsen’, was solved. Norwegian poker pro Ola Amundsgard revealed his true identity and that he was behind both the ‘Odd_Oddsen’ and the ‘no_Ola’ screen names.

The month saw Main Event of this year’s World Series of Poker play down from Day 1A to the formation of the November Nine. The very first day had 943 entrants of the total 6,352 participants and the fate of the nine-handed Final Table seats was decided on Day 7.

Mimi Luu could not fold her hand, nor call with her pocket kings in the Seminole Hard Rock Open. Her tanking was a major source of fun this year in the poker community, she even inspired ’SrslySirius’ to create a video.
Steven ’Zugwat’ Silverman won the WPT Alpha8 Florida event for $891,660 with November Nine chipleader JC Tran finishing runner-up for $526,890.
