Ladbrokes, leading UK betting company, has recently added the option of anonymous tables to their online poker portfolio. This ensures that your data, including your screen name and avatar, is absolutely inaccessible to your opponents. Switching between anonymous and normal formats is, of course, possible.

“We are really excited about this launch. Never before have poker players been able to play without other players knowing who they are. This brings an added element to the game for people whose playing style maybe recognizable. For those new to the game, it is an opportunity to try some different moves without getting a reputation because players will simply never know who they are playing against,” Kate McLennan, Ladbrokes spokesperson commented.

At the anonymous tables nobody can see any details about you, only your cards and a randomly generated tag, which also means you will be immune to data-mining and tracking software as well. Ladbrokes’ monitoring team, of course, will nevertheless remain to be able to see your whole profile, so that the function cannot be misused.

This option aims to allow users to try new moves and tactics without being tracked by fellow players. If this innovation proves to be successful, Ladbrokes’ network Microgaming (and any other provider, for that matter) will certainly be interested in transforming it to their other sites as well.
