Daniel Negreanu says he or Phil Ivey is to win at least one golden bracelet at this year’s WSOP. They are offering a bet with odds of 1:1 on wagers of $5,000 to $1,000,000.
Six times WSOP champion Daniel Negreanu has been owning live tournaments recently: in the fourth consecutive year, he has won over $1,000,000 in total: in 2011, he scored $1,534,367, in 2012 $1,690,020, in 2013 $3,208,630 and this year, he has already racked up $1,701,763 in live winnings. Additionally, the Canadian won the Player of the Year title from both CardPlayer and Bluff and finished 2nd in the contest of GPI, just behind Ole Schemion.
Negreanu’s confidence is therefore understandable and he expects to do great at the WSOP. He definitely aims to expand his golden bracelet collection, to which end he will enter most events. Being hell-bent on winning, ‘KidPoker’ decided to make it even more exciting by offering a bet to the poker community.
“WSOP Bracelet Bet Offering: me and @philivey as a team, you can bet the don’t on either of us winning a bracelet this summer at even money,” he tweeted, adding that he would provide 1:1 odds; betting $5,000 would win you another $5,000.
Raising interest, Negreanu added details later:
“Min bet is $5k against me and Ivey winning a bracelet this summer and the odds are even money. One of us wins- you lose. Simple.”
“If I don’t know you, and you want to bet against me and Ivey winning a bracelet this summer, email pattylandis@hotmail.com for wiring info,” he wrote, specifying later that the largest bet they would take is $1,000,000.
Of course, the humorous side of the bet was quickly discovered, when a forum member commented he would only be willing to bet as long as Ivey does not get to choose the deck of cards at any of the events.
Next to the bet, the Canadian also offered to sell 50% of his action in the $1,000,000 Big One. The smallest slice is, again, $5,000. Should you be interested, write to pattylandis@hotmail.com.
