PartyPoker once again aims at favoring recreational players over regulars with the latest development.

The room has introduced two improvements recently, the Sit Out feature and the Casual Cash Game tables. The latter addition has caused some outrage in the poker community, being regarded as yet another move to protect recreational players from regulars.

At Casual Cash Game tables, no multi-tabling is allowed; that is, a player sitting at a Casual Cash Game table will not be allowed by the client to open additional CG tables.

“Do you belong to the large crowd of players who don’t, for whatever reason, multitable cash games?  Then you’ll welcome our new table type – Casual Cash Games. These tables work just like normal cash games but are only open to players who play a single cash game (tournament games can still be multitabled). Initially they’ll only be available at a limited stake levels but expect that range to expand soon,” the announcement from PartyPoker reads.

Casual Cash Games are marked by a smiley in the cash game lobby.

It is the aim of the tables to offer protection to recreational players from multi-tabling regulars. To what extent the system is capable of doing that remains to be seen; for instance, a player may easily sit at their normal number of tables at other rooms, while opening up just one Casual Cash Game at PartyPoker to play against a softer field.

While the reception of the improvement is mixed, regulars still welcome the heads-up before its implementation, unlike the infamous case with segregated tables.

As far as the Sit Out feature is concerned, multi-tabling players will be able to sit out from all their tables by just clicking a single button and can return to the session the same way.
