2012 PCA’s Main Event almost came to its conclusion, the 8-handed final table was set yesterday with the chiplead of Faraz Jaka. PokerStars.tv will provide a live stream covering the event. The Final Table of this year’s Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) $13,000 Main Event almost came to its end, only 8 players remained, who will decide who takes the $2 million main prize home today.
On Day 5 of the main event, 24 remaining players returned to their chips. Faraz Jaka sat on the biggest stack, 4.114.000. Right behind him was the MTT online pro, Alex ‘Assasinato’ Fitzgerald, 3rd was the high stakes cash game legend Phil ‘takechip’ D’Auteuil. PCA’s 2009 runner-up Anthony Gregg was also at the table surrounded by players like Byron Kaverman (last year’s $5k side event winner), Martin Jacobson, Xuan Liu, Ruben Visser and Danny Chevalier, who was the best poker player in New Zealand in 2011.
Gregg, Visser and Liu all made it to the finals. Jaka held his position well, he made the final table with 6.470.000. He had his ups and downs, at one time he had to come back from 1.425.000. He played a key hand against D’Auteuil on the 30th blind level (10.000/50.000/100.000), when Gregg went 3-bet all-in from the cutoff to D’Auteuil’s 450.000 raise. Jaka found aces, he called with 2.375.000. D’Auteuil called, but only showed J 6 , Gregg held K T . The dealer dealt a 3 4 T 8 J board, which meant a huge win for Jaka, who now held 5.550.000, Gregg was left with 1.480.000, D’Auteuil was eliminated. The final table formed when the unlucky Lee Goldman was eliminated, whose pocket kings didn’t hold against John Dibella‘s pocket nines, when the dealer dealt a 9 on the river.
Jaka will start the final table today with a slight advantage, Kyle Julius is only 20.000 chips behind. The finals will start from the 31st blind level (10.000/60.000/120.000).
The event will be streamed live at PokerStars.tv at 13:40 (18:40 CET).
