The latest WPT Season 9 event at the Bellagio ended with yet another record set by 20 years old Randal ‘RandALLin’ Flowers: not only is he the youngest ever to win a WPT event (WPT Barcelona, June 2009) but now he is also the youngest to take down two.

At the beginning of the event finale, Flowers already had a minor lead in chips. The stacks were as follows:

Starting on level 27 (40,000/80,000/10,000), it only took about 25 hands to play it down to the elimination of Skip Wilson, who ran into Michael Benvenuti’s pocket queens. From that point, it was Flowers’ role to send his opponents to the rail; he bested Frankenberger, Koon and Schwartz with pocket tens, a jack-high straight and A:s Q:c, respectively.

The HU was eventually played on level 30 (80,000/160,000/15,000), where Flowers had a massive chiplead of 5:2 over Benvenuti, for whom it took only around a dozen hands to go all-in on a board of 9:s 6:c 6:s, holding Q:s 7:s for a flush draw. With the turn being 4:c and the river A:h, however, Flowers’ top pair of nines won him the hand and his second WPT title. The winnings can be seen below:
