Sebastian Homann beat a field of 222 in the World Poker Tour Marrakech Main Event, earning €244,000 as first prize.

The players registered for the €5,000 Main Event of WPT Marrakech include renowned names like Nicolas Levi, Antoine Saout, Surinder Sunar, Dominik Nitsche, Thomas Bichon, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and Davidi Kitai. Still, the relatively unknown German Sebastian Homann managed to win the tourney.

The final table setup was as follows:

Patrick Muleta was eliminated first, then Julien Labussiere and Johan Williamsson followed. Final table favourite Dominik Nitsche shockingly lost around 2/3 of his stack soon and decided to go all-in with the remainder on 7:h 6:h. Chipleader Sebastian Homann insta-reraised with K:h K:s. The board fell T:c 4:s Q:c 8:c 7:c, sending Nitsche packing.

The relatively short HU was played by Homann and Guillaume Cescut, after the elimination of Guillaume de la Gorce and Felix Oberauer. In the last hand, Homann held 9:d J:c, while Cescut showed A:s 4:c on a board of J:d 4:s 3:s K:c 2:c, thus the former won the tournament and the €244,000.
